WordPress 5.8 Beta released

WordPress just gets better and better. Set for release July 20 2021.

So what’s new?

Blocks as Widgets – Adding the functionality of the Block Editor to the Widgets and accessible via Customise or the normal Appearance > Widgets menu.
WebP Images – WebP is the latest format for images on the web, offering a saving of somewhere around 30% in filesize. This is still not supported by all browsers so use it with caution.
Template Editor – allowing you to save templates for a post or page
Nested Blocks – It will be easier to select the parent of any block.
Duotine Filters – to add effects to images
